March 2025: Brief News & Notes

Check Out Our New Annual Report!

We truly appreciate your support of the Alliant Educational Foundation (AEF). Our most recent fiscal year has been highly successful, and we’re delighted to share a few of this year’s highlights in the brief annual report we’ve just released!

Among many accomplishments, we’re most proud of staying true to a bold new strategic plan supporting hundreds of students through scholarships across the State of California, launching our second cohort of AEF Fellows, expanding our regional children’s Mental Health Consortium to the San Francisco/Bay Area to better support under-resourced children and youth, and funding our Innovation/Seed Grants program to align with the mission and values of the Foundation.

AEF Launches New Online “Salon” Series

AEF hosted an important panel discussion on February 26th addressing some of the recent federal policy changes and how current psychology students and new or established psychologists can cope.  Entitled “Helping Psychologists Respond to These Tumultuous Times,” this was the first in an upcoming series designed to inform and connect our CSPP community around these issues.

If you missed the session, you can watch it here on AEF’s new YouTube channel.

We’re also seeking input from our community to help shape the next set of online “salon” programs.  You can participate in our brief survey here.

Our New YouTube Channel

Comprised of new and ongoing video content, the Foundation launched a new YouTube channel in the Fall
as an opportunity to share more visual content about its impact.

The new channel can be accessed here, and featured content includes AEF’s new introductory video (4 ½ mins)—providing a great overview of our work and impact.  Check it out!

AEF’s Regional Children’s Mental Health Consortium

The Alliant Educational Foundation launched it’s highly collaborative “mental health consortium” in 2020, helping to place CSPP graduate students in clinical psychology at a variety of youth-serving non-profit organizations.  At sites in San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area, CSPP students bolster the capacity of existing organizations to better address the mental health needs of under-resourced children, youth, and their families.

We invite you to learn more about this important program.  For a quick primer on the consortium, please check out our animated overview here and our newest infographic here.

Alliant Launches Sacramento Psychological Services Clinic

Alliant’s Sacramento Psychological Services (ASPS) Clinic recently launched as a telehealth clinic that provides accessible and affordable psychological services to adults. Sponsored in part by the Foundation, clinicians (clinical psychology doctoral students supervised by licensed psychologists) emphasize a trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive approach.

While based in Sacramento and proud to serve the local community, clinicians are also able to provide high-quality care to those located across the State of California.

Check out their Psychology Today profile with contact information here.  And read more here about this important new program.

Scholarships for Students

Each spring, the Foundation launches its newest round of scholarship funding. This annual round of funding is made possible, in large part, by the generosity of more than 50 donor-restricted scholarship funds aimed at helping Alliant students across all campuses.  Nearly $100,000 in tuition assistance will be granted for the coming year.  This funding is in addition to approximately $500,000 the Foundation provides in collaboration with Alliant International University’s annual scholarship process each year.
